How long will an appointment take?

 Plan on at least an hour for a comprehensive initial nutrition assessment.

 Allocate at least 40 minutes for a follow up.

 What can I expect ?

At the initial session you will receive a comprehensive nutrition assessment including:  diet record evaluation,  a food personality test,  body fat and lean muscle measurements, evaluation of of lab data, and development of a customized  care plan.  You willl leave that day with the  beginings of an individualized nutrition plan.

During the follow ups you will be weighed and a brief diet recall will be conducted. You'll leave the appointment with a  progress note highlighting those areas that are showing improvment, advice for change, and goals for a future appointment.

What should I bring to an appointment?

It helps if you keep a three day record of everything you eat, incoporating a weekend if possible.  Lab work and test results are also helpful.

How much does it cost?  Rates are based on usual and customary fees as recognized by most insurance companies.  As cases vary, fees are not posted on this website, but more guidance can be provided by contacting us.

Payment may be made in cash or checks.

Is nutrition counseling covered by insurance?

85% of all insurance companies in the state of Maryland do recognized nutrition counseling services delivered by a registered dietitian, when there is a medical issue such as high blood pressure or diabetes.  However,  individual coverage does vary! Consult  with your insurance carrier for details on the inclusion criteria of your particular plan.

 What if I have to cancel or need to reschedule? Please provide at least 48 hours notice for appointment changes or rescheduling. Unkept appointments will be billed for the full visit cost.

DIRECTIONS:  695 , inner loop, to Exti 26 A. Bear Right on to West Road.  Turn in front of the stone wall for 100 West Road.  The building is located in the rear of the parking lot.  Proceed to the third floor.
